Miami is a top destination for sun seekers and people looking to have fun.. A somewhat secluded barrier island just northeast of Jacksonville, it's one of the few places you can ride a horse along the beach. It's upscale and laid back, so decompressing is easy and natural.

The Island, with its historic town of Fernandina Beach, offers a nice collection of boutique shops and several very good restaurants.
